I
asked my friend from Iran once, “Do you like war?” He looked at me in an odd way and replied “Who
would like war? If a war breaks out everyone dies. Like my Friends, families
and people that I care.” What I realized from this
conversation is that everyone hates war. It doesn’t matter if you are from
Korea, England, or from Papua New Guinea. Everyone wants to avoid war. In other
words, this means everyone wants Peace for what matter.
To
make this happen, Not only MANNAM volunteer association, but also many youth
associations came together on May 25 in Seoul. What they shouted out was Peace.
It didn’t matter weather you are Asian, American, or other races. Peace
happened at that day. Because with the same heart and same mind, everyone
became happy and felt peace in their heart. It was an amazing moment because
many people gathered for one reason. This day, there were no war, no hatred
against each other.
And
the walk that was happening in the area was different then other peace events,
because every one of the people wrote that they want peace and declared this
will happen by their hands. Everyone who joined the event wrote their signature
that meant ‘I don’t want war.’
At
the same time, some people went to a festival to satisfy themselves. Some
people went hiking to achieve their goal. But many shouted for a world with
peace. Where were you? Think about the things I can do for peace. It is
actually happening now. Will you be the person who helps? Or be a person who
only looks away with their arms crossed. It depends on you.
