[MANNAM] Peace: Making Everyone Smile Through Volunteerism

From ancient to modern, there have been numerous people working for peace. To achieve peace, some lived poorly for the whole life, some spent most of their life in prison, and others even lost their life. What is peace and what kind of world have they pursued?

For some people, peace may mean have regular meals every day; for some, peace may mean have a harmonious family life; and for others peace may mean no discrimination due to gender, nationality, or religion. In a word, peace means happiness and smiles and these are what MANNAM International Volunteer Association works for. MANNAM International aims to make those people who are in need feel happy and see smiles on their faces.

Through Free Korean Classes, MANNAM International has seen smiles on those friends who are from foreign countries; through delivering briquettes to households in the village, we have seen villagers’ smiling faces; through picking up garbage around Gyeongpo Reservoir, MANNAM International member have also seen the trees, the reservoir, and the whole nature smile.

Smiles, they are not what can be seen only when we take pictures. Nor they are what can be made only when we say “cheese”. When there is “volunteerism”, not only people who are receiving but also those who are giving smiles and these smiles make the community peaceful. If you are interested in this campaign of making everyone in the world smile, MANNAM International is waiting for your participation.
