[MANNAM] It's time to share our love to environments

[MANNAM] It's time to share our love to environments

Do you know what day is 5th of April?
It's a tree planting day! It is called '식목일' in Korean.
Long time ago in Korean history, Korea was dominated by other country.
As you know, trees are very good and important resources to human.
So, during those days, lots of trees were taken from Korea.
After the domination, Korea was lack of many trees on the mountain.
Therefore, government chose one day to plant trees. That is 5th of April.
It used to be a red day. So, on that day, on the news, you can see lots of families go nearest mountain and plant trees.
However, when you see a calendar, April 5th is not a red anymore.
It has changed since 2006. The main reason for this is that there are too many red days in Korea and also, there were many fires on this day.
Many people were sad because since the day changed to normal black day, they cannot take a day off.
However, the real sad thing is that the time for us to payback their love is gone.
When we think of trees, some can just think it is a resources needed in our life.
But actually, it is much more than that. Trees are the one who offers you fresh air and make us to live.
Not only the air, but also, we really rely on trees a lot.
Papers, tissues, books are made of trees, trees save us from disasters, they offers us air and etc.

However, have you ever thought paying them back?
We always received the love from them, but did we pay them back?
Did they offer us with expecting something? No.
But, as the one who are receiving the love from them, don't we have to pay them back?
It's not about having lots of money. Just thinking about them could be a pay back too.
So, how about start to save them from now on from us?
MANNAM International Volunteers try hard to save EARTH too.
We save the Bukhan mountain last year, which was about to die. (You can here this story more in MANNAM volunteer blog)
Not only that, volunteering for the environment is still happening in each branch of MANNAM and it will be keep on going.
As the one who is living on this Earth, why don't you spend your time sharing your love for environment? :)
